May 3rd: Friday: RENAISSANCE COMMUNITY CONTRA DANCE with music by Wild Sage and calling by Logan Crieghton, at the 1912 Center (Corner of 3rd St and Van Buren in Moscow). 7:30 PM.

We're excited to have a new band to play for us at this dance, from Coeur D'Alene, Wild Sage. You'll recognize the lovely flute and whistle playing of Melody Draves from the band, Northern Shores. She'll be joined by Lesile Rousos playing the mandolin and tenor banjo, and Bill Compher with his guitar and mandocello. We're really looking forward to hearing these folks. And Logan Creighton, from up north, will be calling for us. This will be our last dance in the 1912 Center until fall! What better way to kick off the Renaissance Fair weekend than dancing with some lovely folks in this lovely dance hall! And, yes, renaissancy wear is always fun.

No Partner? No worry. There are lots of dancers - many would like to dance with you. All dances are taught. Singles, families & beginners are always welcome. Children are always FREE

May 18th: Saturday: COMMUNITY CONTRA DANCE with music by Red Herring and calling by Joseph Erhard-Hudson, at the Old Blaine Schoolhouse (Corner of Eid and Blaine Roads). Potluck dinner 6:30, dancing at 7:30 PM.

This will be our first dance out at the Blaine Schoolhouse, this lovely old treasure just south of Paradise Ridge. As with all our summer dances, we'll start off the evening with a potluck meal together. So pack along your favorite offering with your dancing shoes and join us. We have an excellent band to drive the dancing for the evening, Red Herring. This band is made up of some of the liveliest contra dance musicians in the area. Coming to us from Spokane and Sandpoint, this band features members from the bands 'The Bridgewater Boys' and 'InTentCity'. Joseph Erhard-Hudson will be calling. Definitely one of the best callers around. He's great fun. We can hardly wait! We'll see you there for a wonderful evening of contra dancing under the stars!

You can find a map to the schoolhouse at our website, palousefolk.org, or in one of our newsletters in the bin on the Moscow Coop bulletin board.
